Poker Mavens 4 Beta Testing / Sneak Preview

I'm looking for a few beta testers for the upcoming version 4 of Poker Mavens, which uses an HTML5 player client instead of Flash. I need volunteers that can put a lot of players on it quickly to look for bugs. The beta will run along side older versions on the same server without interfering with your existing site. If interested, send me a private email (see signature line) with your current order/license number.

For everyone else, you can get a sneak preview at http://www.pm-demo.com or by selecting the Briggs Softworks site from the public directory at http://www.pokermavens.net

Also note that anyone purchasing version 3 after today or within 60 days of the public release will get a free upgrade, as will any beta testers that provide feedback.

FYI, PM 4 requires a browser with WebSocket support, including any of these:

IE 10+
FireFox 11+ (Windows/Android 2.2+)
Chrome 14+ (Windows/Android 4.0+/iOS 6+)
Opera 12.1+
Safari 6+ (Mac/iOS 6+)

The current version of Chrome on Android has poor audio support (only beep sounds will be heard). However, that's been fixed in the latest Beta version of Chrome in the Google Play Store:

This is the best news of the year!!!!!!!! Hats off to you Kent!!!

A few questions :

We are already using version 3 (strongly using the API) will our old code work with version 4, are there any major API or scaling changes? Any idea when the stable version will be out? Great job again. Thx.

There were no API changes. Most changes are graphics related (communal avatar set, card graphic, etc.). I've already updated the templates page regarding those:

I've got a few sites doing beta testing now. When I get a week or two without any bug reports then I'll do the public launch.

You can disable account creation in the client and create your web-based login page and do whatever validation you want there. This thread is for PM 4 beta testing, however.

Hi Kent! Are you using the new version of the API for client-server communication?

The API hasn't changed, but it only covers admin functions. The internal client-server protocol has changed from a parameter string format to a more efficient JSON format. But it's not published like the API.
