For Immediate Release Contact: Kent Briggs September 5, 2005 POKER MAVENS 1.0 Houston, TX -- Briggs Softworks announces the release of Poker Mavens 1.0, an Internet-based poker software game for Windows. Poker Mavens allows friends and family to play against each other in a private game of Texas Hold'em poker from anywhere in the world, for fun and practice. Up to nine people can play in a single table tournament, using a graphical interface that displays the table, cards, chips, and player avatars. All three Hold'em variations (limit, pot limit, and no limit) are supported. A built-in chat system lets players communicate with each other, IM-style. Unlike other online poker sites that use a central server and require an account, Poker Mavens runs entirely on local PCs. The software consists of a free Client Module that each player uses and a Server Module that is operated by one person in the group, designated as the game administrator. The game adminstrator has the option to run Poker Mavens as a private game so that only invited guests can play or as a public game so that anyone can join in. The Server Module runs on any Windows PC connected to the Internet, either directly or through a router, including dial-up access. Poker Mavens is available for Windows 98 through XP. The server module license fee is $29.95 USD. Visit the Briggs Softworks web site to download the trial version and the free client module, view screen shots, and read more about the program.
