Tournament prize in case of deal

Hello,

We have detected that during an All-IN at the very first hand of a small tournament we created, with all the 4 players in the hand, 2 players splits and 2 players loose.

The 2 loosing players placed themselves regardless the value of their hands VS each other.

Why is so? We also tested the same behavior in a similar hand we dealt later.

Here I attach the screenshot of the hand of the relative logs.

Are you asking why players 1 and 2 won chips? You apparently have your Payout Structure set to payout at least 4 places. The default setting would only pay 1 place for 4 entries so you must have changed it. Post your Payout Structure setting for that tournament. The default looks like this:

By the way, if you're testing the ICM Chop (Player Chop) feature (you mentioned "deal" in the subject line), you have to play at least 1 hand before that becomes an option. The chop agreement dialog is shown before the hand starts if every player has their box checked.

player 2 had a better hand than player 1, however, he ended up taking the prize for 4th place in the tournament and player 1 for 3rd

When multiple players go out at once, their hand strength does not factor in their place. Instead it's determined by their position so that there are no ties. The player in worst position (farthest from the button) gets the better place.

oh I understand, thanks for your answer! Does the amount of chips play any role in defining the final place in the tournament when they lose at the same time as in that case?

Yes, I should have mentioned that above. It first looks at how many chips the players had at the beginning of the hand and if there is a tie, their position acts as the tie-breaker to determine their place.
