Late entry added to incorrect Hand History log file

Post by dawg6 »

I have a new server set up and our first tournament was yesterday (1/11/2022).

When a player join via late registration that caused the tournament to go from one table to two tables, a new Hand History log file was created for Table 2 of the previous week (which is before our server even went live, so it was pretty easy to see that something was wrong). This log file contained a single entry "(Player Username) joins table via late registration"

Did it also create a Table 2 file for the current date? If you still have that file, please email me a screen shot of that folder showing the file names and dates, etc.

Yes, it did create a Table 2 for the current date and it was populated correctly, as far as I can tell.

Attached is the screen shot.

That's weird. The hand history code just queries the operating system for the current date and uses that in the file name. The only explanation I could think of is if you adjusted your Windows clock during the tournament. But if that was true there would also be a Table 1 file with a January 5 date and there isn't. You should restart the poker server in case it was a memory corruption issue.

Thanks. I definitely did not adjust the clock while the tournament was going. You can even see that the time stamp on the 1/5 log file is 7:01pm on the 11th (the tournament started at 7pm on the 11th).

I'll keep an eye out to see if it ever happens again.

We had another person join our tournament during late entry today (2/1/22) and it created an entry in a new log from 6 days ago. The time stamp on this file is from 7:10pm tonight (10 minutes after the tournament started).

Interstingly, it created the new log file for 1/65/22 (which isn't even a date that we play; we last played that tournament on 1/25/22).

Once again the log file has a single entry noting that the player joined during late entry.

Correction: 1/26/22 (not 1/65/22)).

So both times it backdated the file name to 6 days prior, correct?

Yes, it appears so.

But I think that was also when server was last restarted.
