Minimum specs for running in AWS?

Post by dawg6 »

I'm trying to determine what the minimum specs are for running Poker Mavens in AWS. We have a small group (usually about 10 players) and I don't want to oversize the VM.

A friend told me he was using a t2.micro for his Kiwanis club, which is only 1 CPU and 1GB RAM. I think the 1 CPU is probably fine, but I'm curious to know if 1GB RAM is really sufficient? I've got it running, but my task manager shows that I'm using 93% of RAM and the RDP desktop is very sluggish.

If you have the option to choose the Windows version, go with an older one like Windows Server 2012 or 2016 and that should use less RAM. Poker Mavens itself doesn't use much RAM (especially for a low player and table count). Most of that 1 GB is just running the O/S. And make sure the IIS web server is not running if it's not being used.
