Rake by $ amount or by street

Post by PokerJets »

How can I set the rake by a dollar amount?
For example, in a 5/10 game I want to rake a max of $3 regardless of the number of players in the hand
I want to rake $1 when the pot is at $20
The next dollar when the pot hits $30
and the final dollar when the pot hit $40

Alternatively if this can't be done, can I rake by street?
In other words, rake a dollar on the flop
Then if hit, a dollar on the turn and river

Rake is only applied as a percentage of the pot with an optional cap. In your first example you could set a 100% rake with $3 cap but that would be highly unusual. You cannot rake by street because the pot isn't divided by streets.

Thanks for the quick reply.
if I set the rake to 5%, would it take out $1 for every $20
If so, could I then set the cap to $3?

Yes, and $0.50 for each $10 and $0.25 for every $5, etc., depending on your "Smallest chip" setting.

Yes, any value you want. This is all Pro and Gold edition features, by the way. No rake options in Trial and Lite versions.

If he sets his "smallest chip" to $1, won't it do exactly what he wants? Rake nothing until the pot hits $20. Then take $1. Take nothing more until the pot hits $40 where it will take the second $1.

Yes, if he's ok with the blinds, buy-in, and all bets restricted to a multiple of $1.

Thanks for the input. I use 25 cents as the smallest chip since we play 25/50 limit. The small blind is 12.50.
I set the rake at 5% with a cap of 3. I works perfectly. 25 cents for every 5 that goes into the pot After 60 is in the pot, nothing comes out
