A shootout tournament is not specifically designed as a heads up / bracket tourney. It works with any size tables 2 to 10 and plays down to a table winner before going to the next round. The only way to correctly run this as a heads up tournament is to start with a power-of-2 number of entrants, even if that means unregistering the last 7 players and starting with 16.
