Avoid Crashing

Post by pleaseadddrawgames »

I reviewed your thread here:
http://www.briggsoft.com/forums/viewtop ... =10&t=2815

I've noticed a few sites have had issues crashing on the new versions.
With 1 site we did 1 server cash and 1 server tournaments.
That has helped overall. However, we still have crashed if too much i son the server at 1 time on the tournament server.
By deleting non used tournaments, having only 14 up at a time, reducing tables available in a tournaments, and only try to have 5 running at time this seems to help things overall.
However, i would prefer running tournaments every 30 minutes versus having to space them out an hour or 2. i noticed some sites run many tournaments without issues.
When we go to about every half hour it will crash. Logins will be around 220-240.
With out current schedule we have been over 300 and no issues.

i want to bring up these settings as i think you have some suggestions to make things better.
Max sessions:500
Connection sweep minutes:2
Max FP connection: 0
Max FP connections per IP:0
Max PP connections:0
Max PP connections per IP: 0

What kind of thread count are you seeing at these different configurations at peak load?

Look for System records that start with "Traffic". The frequency of these is determined by the "Traffic interval" setting in the Log Settings group.

Each player will typically have a half dozen temporary file port (FP) connections open to fetch client and media files and one packet port (PP) connection for the websocket. So you can set those in conjunction with your Max Sessions setting.
