Mavens Tools not compatible with PM 7

Post by Supersonics »

Kent, you may or may not know that Mavens Tools is currently not compatible with Poker Mavens 7. I understand that isn't your issue, but I am someone who relies solely on the daily Google Sheets exports from Mavens Tools, without it, there is no way I would host like I am now. Having Google Sheets turned off is like someone turning off the lights, and I'm kind of freaking out right now and hope you can help.

Is there a way to download daily activity from Poker Mavens? If so, how?

Google Sheets will show me the net +/- chip balance for every player on our server, I can then easily settle up with players based on their gain or loss. Since I cannot see that info right now, and we have had several poker nights since we upgraded, I am starting to really stress out as I am in the dark and with several thousands of +/- activity in the past week. I 'assume' I will be able to see all of the daily activity since we upgraded to 7 from Mavens Tools, but I do not know for certain.

Any feedback and/or help you can provide to calm my nerves is greatly appreciated. I went from having a really incredible time hosting to being in a spot right now where the lights went out several days ago and I have zero idea what information is stored in the system, etc...

Thanks,
Supersonics

I've never looked at Mavens Tools so I don't know what it does. But every chip transaction is recorded in the daily text-based Event Log in your data folder as well as the Transaction database that you can query on the Accounts tab in the Admin Console.

I tried looking at the Event Log and didn't see any chip transaction info, so maybe I'm not looking at the right thing.

I then looked at the Transaction database in the Accounts tab and cannot see any data from before we upgraded to PM7.

Would I need to load PM6 back up to see that data?

Thanks,

You can use the Event Log viewer utility to filter on the "Account" category:

Each major version is standalone. Look in your v6 data folder for v6 info:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Poker Mavens 6\

How much is mavenstools broken? Is it just the google sheets part only or are we talking major issues like even with the paging alerts and such to players and the tournament summaries as well.. Just curious as Im working on building my server up and wanted to use mavenstools to automate certain things like chip adds and subtracts but more so to allow people to get notified for the wait lists. Since I dont and wont real with the risks of settling up issues and people welching causing cash flow issues if thats the only issue is the chip plus minus reports on Gsheets Im not majorly concern.

I just let LB know that the email tournament recaps aren't working. The Hand Viewer can't handle the Run It Twice feature right now, and it doesn't have the new variants added to the viewer.

Google Sheets is now fixed on Mavens Tools, so that is a major relief. I'm still missing some data before we upgraded to Version 7, but I'm willing to just take the approximately $250 hit as a result.

And to answer your question Kent, without Mavens Tools, there is no way I would host poker with Poker Mavens. Mavens Tools is a crucial integration for me and I would assume for any person hosting poker nights at the level I am currently doing with Poker Mavens. I host a full schedule of tournaments with many active ring tables for my league, and if Mavens Tools for some reason went away, I would quit hosting immediately as I have a rather complex setup right now, made simple only with the help of Mavens Tools.

Update: Google Sheets isn't updating daily, so there is still some work to be done by LB to get his product fully integrated with Poker Mavens 7

Hi, all. This is LB, the owner of Mavens Tools. I thought I would let everyone know that I am aware of the issues that some MT clients are facing. My current priority is to fix the few features that aren't working with v7, then move on to support the new features of v7, such as Run it Twice. As Supersonics mentioned, the Google Sheets feature is fixed, and tourney summary emails are next up.

@ftpjesus feel free to reach out if you would like to discuss the current state of affairs. And any current or potential client is encouraged to contact me directly at [email protected]. Thanks.

Just checking in to see how its going getting things worked out on Mavenstools. I had to put my project on the backburner due to work stuff and was kinda waiting to see what new stuff some of the 3rd parties were going to integrate for PM7.
