Poker Mavens 7.04 Released

*** Remember to shut down the server completely and close the service manager before running the patch ***

Changes:

Added classic card deck design. Not everyone liked the new "modern" card deck design so I re-create the old "classic" design in the new higher resolution. Now players can choose from either design (two and four color options). For Pro and Gold owners you can now have up to four custom decks instead of just two. And they are no longer referred to as "two color" and "four color". They are just decks #1 to #4. Note that this will reset every player's deck choice back to #1, which is the "modern" two-color option.

Added Memory used indicator to Admin Console status bar, API SystemStats command, and the traffic record recorded in the Event Log. This shows how much memory (in kilobytes) the poker server is using.

Added "Log rogue connections" option to Log Settings. You can now turn off the "Rogue connection rejected" records that appear in the Event Log if you don't want to see them.

Added admin profile right for "Show Threads" button.

Fixed bug that put hole cards face down after reloading client.

Accounts tab now updates correctly when ticket balance changes.

Fixed admin console loading dialog bug for certain admin profiles.

Fixed a small memory leak in player connections.

Table crashes will now add a stack trace to error log. This will help me in debugging crashes.

Improved error trapping when sending data to disconnected clients.

This is what the players will see now when picking their card deck from the Table Settings menu in the Lobby:

By the way, if you have your own custom decks and don't want the defaults to show and don't want to create another two custom decks, I'd suggest just cloning the ones you have and just change the card back on the end to a different color. Then put those in the other slots.

Hi Kent,

When I went to install this update, I got a win10 warning about a trojan. It seemed to occur at the time the pp704setup.exe was unpacked from the zip.

A snapshot of the details screen from win10 defender is attached. Defender says the item is quarantined.

The MS reference link provided is:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/th ... 2147735505

I did not proceed with the upgrade.

Please advise

This is almost certainly a false positive, which wouldn't be the first time. I just downloaded the pp704setup.exe file (and the pg704setup.exe file) and my digital signatures are still intact. So these have not been modified since I compiled and signed them yesterday.

I submitted the file to Microsoft for verification.

While I'm waiting for a response from Microsoft I went ahead and downloaded every executable file on my web site back to my local PC and ran a manual Windows Defender scan on all of them and it came back as all clean.

as fyi - when i ran a full defender against the physical win10 server where i have the version 7.03 of poker mavens installed (including the download directory with the pp700704.exe) all was fine.
as well, when i fun the defender against the pp700704.exe update file downloaded from you, this is also fine.
the warning happens while executing the downloaded update file, and appears to be around the time the file unpacks the pp703setup.exe install file, and as per my post above Defender reports the issue with the pp703setup.exe. If i abandon the install at that time and do not quarantine the pp703setup.exe, then a Defender scan of that file alone comes up clean.

As you say, maybe a false positive but weird if I am the only one to experience this. Have you tried to run the update file on a physical win10 server to see if you can recreate?

Did you mean 704? The pp700704.exe patch program will unpack and decrypt the pp704setup.exe file from itself. I've personally run the Gold patch on a Windows 7 machine but a lot of Pro customers have already run their 704 patch and I've received no other reports of any issues with that. Have you run previous patches before this one?

No, i meant that i ran the full scan against a machine with 7.03 installed prior to trying to install the 7.04 patch.
Yes, I have run upgrade patches for v6 before. This was the first patch for v7 as my original v7 install was 7.03.
