New anti-cheating functions from the industry

Post by Grim »

ACR just launched re-shuffle to combat collusion: https://product.winningpokernetwork.com ... -reshuffle

Basically, it's two fold. You can't see your cards until it's your turn (so the game slows down a bit). Secondly, mucked cards are re-shuffled into the deck (if there's more than one player left going to the next street of course).

We're just friends playing together so I probably wouldn't turn this on but something to think about for V8. :)

Realized I wasn't very clear. Every time a player mucks, the deck is reshuffled so the next player can get one or more of the previous player's mucked hand. That's why you can't look at your cards before it's your turn. You haven't really gotten them yet.

ABSOULTELY NOT.. Ive already got issues with ACR and how Phil Nagy does business with his bots issue and such but the reality is this reshuffle crap is just that a steaming pile of crap that makes literally trying to figure out legit odds on a hand literally impossible. It literally destroys how Poker is played and how it works. It literally changes online vs live poker by a mile. The one consistent thing about online and live was pondering pot odds etc and how many outs. If cards that have been folded can magically reappear its not poker anymore its literally encouraging bad play and will cause players to develop horrible habits that will make them wretched players at the table. Not to mention the real truth as to why Phil Nagy inserted this. Its to do exactly what you might think. Encourage bad play and thus increase rake to the site itself and more money in his pocket if you believe theres some holier then thou motive your kidding yourself. Phil Nagy if he cared truly about the sanctity of his site would be flushing bots out of his poker site instead of having basically gone back to turning a blind eye once Chicago Joey left the subject alone to go chase another story. And just to remind people of ACRS issues
1. BOTS BOTS and more BOTS
2. Players accounts having money stolen from them and blaming their processor earlier this year when in fact Nagy owns the processing company as well (the domains are registered to the same company and have the exact same renewal date
3. Shady and questionable downtime issues when major overlays are apparent in big tournaments.
4. Phil knows hes the biggest grey market provider out there far exceeding Ignition/Bovada, Betonline and others and because of it he gets away with crappy customer service issues and why the heck MoneyMaker continues to rep the site when people hound him everytime something shady happens on there really is unfair to him but hes the essential face of the site so he has a huge target on his back.

Well, I don't know anything about ACR but it has literally nothing to do with this.

The function in itself seems genius. The rest of us has no way of knowing which cards are in the muck and which are in stub which is why we're counting unknowns vs knowns and blockers vs unblockers. If you know which cards have been mucked and base your strategy on that, you're one of the cheaters that the site is combating which would explain your hate for it...
