Can somebody guide me step by step to upload and assign a custom avatar to a player. Each step from having a 64 x 64 image on my desktop onward.

There's no upload function built into the software so you have to handle that part on your own. But once the image is on the server's local drive you just edit the player's account settings and set the Avatar File setting to the full path of that file and set the Avatar Index setting to 0.
