Daily Forced Player Disconnect

Post by Supersonics »

Kent,

Does Poker Mavens have a setting where it can disconnect all active players on the server at a daily time?

Thanks,

No, but you could do that with the API.

I'm not a programmer, but by API do you mean the server or Mavens Tools? And, would that give players a warning before it happened somehow?

I'm wondering if a system refresh is possible to code into Poker Mavens, it would be a very helpful utility. Ideally there would be a message just like before a break that says, 'System Refresh will happen after the final hand is played on the server'

I would set it to say 6AM, and in the extremely rare situation where someone is still on there at that time playing, well, time to goto sleep!

However, a daily refresh setting would be very important for anyone using Mavens Tools. On May 4th I had this situation happen, resulting in a discrepancy totaling over $1,500 between two players. If I didn't happen to catch it, I would have been shorted $400 from the player really owing $1100 instead of $1500 as was first reported May 5th.

I mean the API built into Poker Mavens that allows you to send commands to the server using your own code. Pretty much everything you can do manually in the Admin Console can be performed with an external program that sends commands to the poker server's API interface.

Okay thanks Kent - So a forced API command wouldn't give anyone any notice... Unless there is a way to do a system wide API message warning everyone that the system is about to refresh.

Having the ability to have a 'System-Wide Break' within the Poker Mavens Admin settings, which includes Ring Tables would be something to consider, if it isn't too much trouble. If I had that ability, I would create a daily break from 5AM-6AM, which would close out the session for the night, allow Mavens Tools to get the chance to pull a 100% reliable balance from the server for my players to see at 8AM when they access our Google Sheets.

Thanks,

You can definitely use the API to send everyone a message:

ConnectionsMessage - sends a popup message to the person at the specified SessionID parameter (required) with the message text specified in the Message parameter (required). Use an asterisk (*) as the SessionID to send the message to all connections.

You can also send messages to the table chat and lobby chat boxes.

Is Mavenstools aware of this bug happening.. This doesnt seem like anything that shouldve been caused by Mavenstools itself I wouldnt think unless theres an issue between running Mavenstool on a V6 vs V7 server.
