Nothing that changed between running 6.25 for a year with no bugs.
Did you see the error log I sent you?
It had error:

Those errors are normal when you startup after a crash during a running tournament. The crash recovery runs after that to refund the players.
Try running the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool (Start -> All Programs -> Administrative Tools) to make sure there isn't a bad memory card.
Do you have access to another Windows computer where you can run a test with a fresh install?

I found the problem! Check this setting:
System tab -> Account Settings -> Crash Recovery
I bet yours is turned off, right? Turn that back on for now, at least until the next update. I made a dumb coding error in 6.26 where the crash recovery file routine will lock up the program when that setting is disabled.
