I would like to suggest a feature where a player who bombs out of a tournament (and possible single rebuy) be permitted to start all over again and re-register during the late registration period.
Casinos are doing this regularly. They have tournaments like 80 buy-in with a single 40 rebuy. Bust out during levels 1-8 and you can "re-enter", i.e., spend another 80 just like a new player.
My suggestion is a value in the tournament setup "Permit re-entry?" and the entry could be -1 (unlimited) 0 (none) or a positive number (number of re-entries permitted, usually 1 or 2).
