Re-Buys: Question on configuration

Post by kensco »

Kent, anybody ~

Several of my players do not like that a person can re-buy to an amount double the value of the starting stack. I see the point of their argument and I would like to oblige them with tournaments that offer re-buys only in the amount of the initial buy-in, and only when a player has busted out.

Is there a simple way to remove the option of double re-buy amounts and restrict re-buys to be an option available only when a player has lost all of their chip stack?

Thanks,

~Ken

That's the standard way that rebuys work. It's how they do it on PokerStars.

Here's the PokerStars rules on rebuys:

http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/tournam ... es/#rebuys

"In general, you may rebuy using the ‘Add More Chips’ button in the dealer tray any time your stack is less than or equal to the starting chip stack. This means you can rebuy once before the tournament even starts!"

And Full Tilt Poker:

http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/poker/tournaments/rebuy

"You may rebuy at any time during this period, providing your chip stack is at or below the tournament threshold."

And Party Poker:

http://www.partypoker.com/tournaments/rebuys.html

"This means that you can purchase extra chips during a tournament. A rebuy is only available before the first break and will only be available to players who are at or below their original chip count."
