Winning a side pot may assist in the knockout but does not deliver the final blow. Winning the main pot does. Carpenter79 had the best hand and took Tronc's last chip. That's what knocked him out, that's why he wins the bounty.

re read the hand history. If a player does not have another player covered the cannot deliver the final blow.

I understand what your post says and how it is awarded. However, I've played poker all over the place and have never seen it done this way.

The only relevant line in the hand history is this one:

Carpenter79 wins Main Pot (17934) with Two Pair

It could have also shown this:

Carpenter79 wins Main Pot (1) with Two Pair

Which means he took the player's last chip and knocked him out.

Well apparently everyone (including PokerStars) agrees with you. Now that I look, I can't find any site that automatically gives it to the main pot winner unless they had the ousted player covered. I can see the logic of doing it either way so I might make that a configurable setting. That complicates the code significantly, however.

Thank you for fixing this. If you don;t have someone covered you shouldn't get a bounty for taking them out.
