A must move table

Post by riclesb »

an option where 2 tables are tied together with one feeding into the other in lieu of a waitlist. like a casino must move.
our group is not too large and I find that waitlist will be 4 or 5 deep and no one opens a new table (don't know why) but a must move would probably make it easier for a 2nd table to open.
just a thought.

Like automatic table balancing but for ring tables? I don't think forcing players to move from a full table to less full table would go over too well. A better approach might be to have a waiting list based on table stakes instead of a particular table where all waiting players are seated at once when some minimum threshold waiting list count is met.

Oh I know why. A lot of people (including myself) don't like playing short-handed. So no one wants to be the first to sit down.

A que system that asked players waiting for a specific game to play against each other would be cool, so that if you wanted to play super fun table of 1,000 / 2,000 chips...

You would need to play x amount of hands on any less fun 1,000 / 2,000 chip game that you are not already sitting on... at the time you request to wait on super fun table of 1,000 / 2,000.

Your RIGHT to take the next available seat would be void if you were removed from any less fun 1,000 / 2,000 chip game. (that you were not already sitting on)

I believe this format would have your desired effect? Giving preference to players who are willing to start a game.

was more what kent said. most nights we have oone full table in a couple of different games, holdem always has a waiting list but nobody wants to start a second shorthanded table. so 4 or 5 guys sit on the wait list staring at each other. like casinos occasionally have a must move table you play until a seat at the real "main game " opens up then first in is first out. if everyone knew that would auto sit in must move table and pop over to main full game as seats opened up. not really a big deal prob more trouble than its worth.
