Removing custom avatars doesn't work
Removing custom avatars doesn't work
You have to replace it with another avatar - it should be possible to remove entirely.

How exactly did you remove it (or try to)?Raventhon wrote:You have to replace it with another avatar - it should be possible to remove entirely.

It's impossible (apparently) to change the file once you've uploaded it to something that isn't another picture file.Kent Briggs wrote:How exactly did you remove it (or try to)?Raventhon wrote:You have to replace it with another avatar - it should be possible to remove entirely.

You mean setting the Avatar File to an empty string via the API?Raventhon wrote:It's impossible (apparently) to change the file once you've uploaded it to something that isn't another picture file.

No, I mean attempting to edit it within the Accounts interface.Kent Briggs wrote:You mean setting the Avatar File to an empty string via the API?Raventhon wrote:It's impossible (apparently) to change the file once you've uploaded it to something that isn't another picture file.

Re: Removing custom avatars doesn't work
Ok, I see the problem. The file open dialog isn't allowing a blank value. That must have happened when I switched to the grid format. I'll fix that in the next update. In the mean time you can use the remote admin interface to blank that out or just set the Avatar Index value and the file will be ignored.Raventhon wrote:No, I mean attempting to edit it within the Accounts interface.
Re: Removing custom avatars doesn't work
It doesn't quite ignore it - if you allow changing avatars and they have an avatar set in the custom avatar spot, they have the ability to change their Avatar Index to 0, restoring the image.Kent Briggs wrote:Ok, I see the problem. Re: Removing custom avatars doesn't work
I should add that this is a feature that is good and that we want to keep - it allows people to set their avatars temporarily to something else while preserving their custom avatar.
Thanks for the fix, that'll be helpful.
