Client interface on firefox 33.0.3 slow ?

Postby johndoo » Sun Nov 09, 2014 6:19 pm

Hello,

Perhaps this is not an issue with the software so I'm wondering if anyone has the same issue :

On Firefox 33.0.3 (last version) on windows7 , everytime I click on a button, or if I use the menus on the client interface, this is veryyy slow (10 seconds sometimes to have any reaction).

If I seat at a table and play, all is ok, only buttons and menus are slow.

This works well with same Firefox version on Windows 8.1 and Linux, so this is the combo win7/Firefox 33 that seems to have some trouble.

Anyone can observe the same thing ?

Do you have any toolbars installed that could be interfering?

Only the standard Google search box, no suspicious plugin activated.

I can't duplicate this. I've got a Windows 7 machine and just connected to a couple of sites using FireFox 33.0.3 and all the buttons and menus were normal speed for me.

Thanks for the tests.
It seems that the issue began here with the last Firefox update a few days ago.
I've tried to deactivate all plugins and extensions, but the problem is still there.
I've also tried the http://www.pm-demo.com/ website just to be sure I've made no mistake with server configuration, and it is also slow.

Very strange issue :?

Do you have any download managers or any kind of security software on that machine that is monitoring your browser activity?

No download manager, no firewall.
I have even uninstalled an http monitoring software to be sure.

Nothing has changed on the computer except the last Firefox update. :|

Open up the error console in FireFox (Ctrl-Shift-J) and see if there are any error messages displayed when the slowness occurs.

The console remains empty, no error.

When I open a table, the background picture of the table shows up several seconds after the seats.
Then if I take a seat, the avatar appears also several seconds later.

I hope this is a problem that occurs only on my computer because this is really a pain to just connect/select a table/open and seat.

Just something I saw now, if on the slow computer I seat at a table and begin to play with another player (myself on another browser like IE) , then even the lobby window becomes fast ... all seems to work.

If I close the table and stop playing then everything becomes slow again  Weird !
