Re: Tournament thread exception
What do you have set for "Max log items" in your Log Settings group?

Re: Tournament thread exception
The default value 10000. After reducing it to 100 memory usage decreases from 140000KB to 139000KB. Not really much.
There is something I do not understand. Last year we had 66 tournaments with 160 to 198 participants. Always without any problems. With unlimited connection settings in PM.
This year we had 5 tournaments with similar participant count and it always crashed. Something must be different.
I am software developer and I am familiar with computers. One of the players in our league is a Windows system administrator who checked our server. he did not find any problems with the server itself.

Re: Tournament thread exception
What version were you using at that time? So far I've not been able to duplicate a memory leak by running tournaments. Next time you are down to 0 logins, take the server offline but leave the program running and check the numbers again. If the memory load stays high then just close and restart the program.aldoraine80 wrote:There is something I do not understand. Last year we had 66 tournaments with 160 to 198 participants. Re: Tournament thread exception
Always the newest version. From 3.16 to 4.10 in 2013, but only two tournaments with 158 and 79 participants with 4.10. And in 2014 we use 4.11.
With 3.16 to 4.09: Everything worked fine.
4.11: does not work.
4.10: I don't know because we did not have enough participants.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before taking server offline: 140.972KB
After taking server offline: 129.688KB
After putting server online again: 142.108KB
After closing and restarting server: 25.380KB
After putting server online: 64228KB
With 3.16 to 4.09: Everything worked fine.
4.11: does not work.
4.10: I don't know because we did not have enough participants.

Re: Tournament thread exception
Do you still have your 4.09 setup file so that you can go back? If not, email me with your license number. I'd like to confirm that the memory load did not grow over time under 4.09.aldoraine80 wrote:With 3.16 to 4.09: Everything worked fine.
What is the total number of accounts, ring games, and tournaments (both offline and online)? After putting server online: 64228KB

Re: Tournament thread exception
I found the memory leak. It's related to the login session of each player and goes all the way back to version 3.20. So I'll have a 3.xx and 4.xx fix out this weekend.aldoraine80 wrote:Same behavior with 4.10. From monday on we will try 4.09.

Re: Tournament thread exception
Thank you Kent. We will try 4.12 today on our new (more powerful) server.
