Make the tournament lobby more like other networks

Post by facebook240 »

Hi Kent,

I have not yet purchased poker mavens as i'm working out all the legal issues to operate the network for a subscription model. I know you are familiar with Grrrinders...I'm actually taking over for them.

Poker mavens has proven to be a fantastic starting base for software. Grrrinders supported 400 players with not a problem. I plan todo the same with the current player base that stands. My question, is is it possible in the near future for you to make the lobby more like an advanced system? Make it look like the other networks? Basically what i'm saying is...

With good theme design, you can make it look like you aren't using poker mavens.

The only thing giving it away now, is the lobby. It has poker mavens written all over it. It's just bland in my opinion.

If you could make it more organized like bovada, or betonline, or poker stars etc, that would be awesome! :)

Keep up the good work, will be purchasing soon!

The lobby window was designed to be compact, simple, and efficient. Eventually I want to create a client API so that site owners can custom design the GUI in any way they want. But my current priority is replacing Flash with HTML5 and it will be well into next year before that is done.

I suppose that is a smart decision.

Thank you for the response.

Look forward to continued updates! :)

Still a long ways off. After looking a various Javascript UI libraries, I decided to start my own from scratch so that I'll have full control over it without any extra bloat.

I think he's using the term "lobby" in just a general sense. From the screen shot, you can see the Flash interface is all in that lower right window with the real lobby window out of view. Everything else is some external program. If you go directly to the domain root at http://www.slaimz.com, it loads the normal interface.
