Hand history converter

Post by squelch »

Is there any possibility of getting a hand history converter for PokerMavens?

I'm trying to archive my hand history dumps, but most major poker hand databasing software doesn't support your hand history format. I was kind of hoping for something that turns them into a more popular format, like that used by Pokerstars.

The trick is to get the authors of those programs to specifically support a site format. The ones that support PokerStars, for example, do so because they specifically deconstructed what PokerStars outputs. I wrote a stats program once for PokerStars and I had to modify it every so often because they would change their hand history format.

I'm just suggesting a workaround program that converts the hand history dumps from Poker Mavens to conform with what Poker Stars outputs. I really hope I'm making sense:

Basically, the program would ideally deconstruct the output Poker Mavens produces, and use that information to generate a new hand history that conforms with Poker Stars' format. That way, we don't have to worry about nagging major poker software developers to support Poker Mavens, we're just converting our output into an output that conforms with that the program already expects.

edit: I think the word I'm looking for here is "parser," but instead of turning logs into nice, reader-friendly text it'd turn it into another kind of log.

edit again: example - http://tardigrade.ovh.org/pokerhand_us.php - difference being the output is a usable PokerStars log.

The PokerStars format actually uses the word "PokerStars" at the beginning of each hand. So some stats programs may actually be looking for that specific label.

You can use http://tardigrade.ovh.org/pokerhand_us.php to convert mavens 2 logs into a more readable output.
Just select "Poker Mavens 2" in the "Format of your hand" listbox, tick options you want and press "convert"

It will create a forum readable output , or an html output (if you tick the right option.
