winner takes all tournaments.

Post by Demented »

Is it at all possible to have tournaments that are winner takes all and don't use the percentage system based on seats filled. Like 100% for first place only.

Yes, that's exactly how you do it. Create a one-line payout structure with 1 place paid at 100.00% for any entrant range (2-1000).

In the Remote Admin interface, the Payout field would just look like this:

Code: Select all

2-1000, 100.00
In the Windows console, it would look like this:

Code: Select all

Entrants Percentages Paid Total
2-1000 100.00 1 100.00

That's what the Prize Bonus field does already.

Actually, a guaranteed prize would mean ....

an 'At Least' prize amount. so if buyins are less then the guarantee, then it still pays out the guarantee. If buyins go above the guarantee, then it pays out the normal buy in prize.

As far as I know, this cannot be done with current options. (I could be wrong)

hi Kent,
i looked into the bonus .. that was the amount that added up to the current price and not the 1 price that setup .. but the bonus price option is also nice too ..

The current system is a guaranteed minimum (when multiple bonus is disabled). What you described is a guaranteed maximum.

The current system is a simple added chips.

If I make a tourny with 100 buy in and 1000 prize bonus ....

with 2 entrants, the prize will be 1200

in a guaranteed tourny .... 100 buy in .... 1000 guarantee ...

2 entrants .... prize is 1000
3 entrants .... still 1000
4,5,6,7,8,9,10 ..... still 1000

11 entrants .... prize = 1100
12 .... 1200
etc etc

This works different then a simple added bonus. And it is a guarantee minimum .... not maximum, as the max can go up indefinitely with the player count.
