The age old disconnect issue

Post by Hubeedoo »

I have one player that is constantly being knocked off. I had him set up new inbound rules for ports 80, 8087-8088 and He still shows disconnects in the log. Here are a couple of log entries.
Disconnects Session 000001CA PC DCFCAEEC
Disconnects Session 000001C6 PC C49DeDDe
Disconnects Session 000001C2 PC 1E3E22DD
I don't know if the above log info is of any help. Or anthing else He can do. He also has Norton running

Players are connecting outbound so it's not an inbound firewall issue. Is he hardwired or wifi?

Has he tried a different browser just to see if that makes any difference? It's unlikely to be a software issue like Norton or a browser plug-in because if it was blocking it wouldn't allow a connection at all. Random drops are typically just a sign of crappy internet service. Or perhaps a faulty modem with buggy firmware. There was another thread in here somewhere where someone said a modem replacement fixed one of their player's connection issues.
