Poker Mavens 2.45 Released

Post by Kent Briggs »

Upgrade Patch:

http://www.briggsoft.com/patches.htm

New features:

Added an "Avatar file" account setting to assign a custom avatar to an individual player (Pro/Gold). Set the player's Avatar number to 0 to use this file instead of one from the communal set. Avatars must be 48 x 48 pixels in size and should have transparent backgrounds (GIF, PNG, or SWF format) so they fit properly on the round seats. Administrators will have to design their own upload/management system if they want to accept avatar files from their users.

Added an "Avatar folder" system setting to specify a custom communal avatar set (Pro/Gold). This allows you to completely replace the default set of communal avatars. Your set can have anywhere from 1 to 64 avatars in it, starting with Avatar01.* (GIF, PNG or SWF format). You can still assign custom avatars outside of this set to individual players as described above.

Added a "Card back graphic" system setting to specify a custom image for the back of the playing cards (Pro/Gold). Some samples made from the default design are available at the bottom of this page:
http://www.briggsoft.com/docs/pmavens/Templates.htm

Added separate log settings (Log file events, Log resource events) for recording outgoing files to the client. Previously these were recorded as "System" events but since you'll now get a lot more entries in the logs for avatars being sent from server to client, these are now separate and can be turned off.

Chat text is now displayed in two colors to prevent an impersonation exploit. Players could type in just enough text to fill a line and then add someone else's name that wraps to the next line to make it look like chat came from them. A previous attempt was made to prevent this by bolding the sender's name but that caused performance issues. Now the name is displayed in the default text color and the remainder is in the assigned chat color.

Bug Fixes:

Registrations are no longer allowed on closing tournaments. Previously you could instruct a tournament to close at completion (or have the Recur setting at -1) and it would still let players register for it. That is now fixed.

Fixed table count bug in client. The count of tables on the Ring Game and Tournament tab in the client would show "0" when there was 1 table in the list.

Fixed fractional chip betting bug in client. Nasty little bug reported this morning. A player who typed in a fraction chip amount (100.5 for example) would confuse the server and freeze the betting round. Everyone should upgrade just for this reason alone.

Hi Kent,

Could you put your avatars on the template page or somewhere handy for those of us who want to include SOME of them in our avatar folder?

Thanks,
George

I'm not allowed to distribute them as standalone images because they are licensed from glyfx.com. However, you can buy your own set (People Icon Set, Large Edition) from them for $28:
