Suggestion: A White List exemption for certain IP Addresses

Post by ftpjesus »

I know I had suggested awhile back which Kent added that the 127.0.0.1 address is exempt from the duplicate address blocking flag.. Depending on how many bots you are running be it Ipokerbot or MavensDev some folks may want to run the bots off a separate machine now at this point either you have to allow duplicate IP addresses either universally across the server or at minimum to each individual table still leaving the possibility of collusion open potentially still. SO I was wondering if Kent could add a line where you could identify the IP address of a bot server location(s) that would be exempt from the Duplicate IP flag.. Just a thought.. Im assuming at worst it could be seen in Version 6 down the road..

I'll consider that for version 6.

A "Duplicate IP whitelist" setting was added in version 6.
