SSLCert.exe error

Postby Tuck Fheman » Wed Jul 12, 2017 2:40 pm

I tried generating the files for the SSL cert, but the program gave the following error on each attempt.

I've tried running it in both PM folders. When I run it in the /roaming/pm5 folder I get this ...

If I run it in the Briggs Softworks/PM5 I get a message "Error running OpenSSL batch file".

Just create a temporary folder off of the root (e.g., C:\temp\) and run it in there.

Also, you can get a free SSL cert from Cloudflare (even on their free accounts) and protect yourself from hackers in the process. See this thread for more info:

I still get error opening OpenSSL batch file. Sorry man, no clue what's going on and why I'm having so many issues.

Solved.

I had to go grab OpenSSL, put an environment variable in Windows server, create the OpenSSL.cfg file, then run the SSLCert.exe.

The errors seem to be related to file access rights. You're logged into Windows as Administrator, right? Are you still running those anti-virus utilities?

I looked into the access rights and I didn't see an issue, but that doesn't mean anything since this is my first VPS setup.

To be sure that was not the issue, I did go back and reinstall everything under the original account setup.

We'll see how it goes. Tonight I may go ahead and nuke the accounts and have everyone recreate, they said it's not a big deal. There's one guy who showed a screenshot where the site said his account email did not exist, yet I can clearly see the account. He created a new one wit a diff email. So something is definitely wrong with the current Account db, but I have a two big games today and dont want to have everyone have to recreate accounts right before the tourneys.

That all said, I haven't seen an issue in several days. Overall though, sites running great, everyone loves it, it's starting to come into place.

Great piece of software man! I'm so glad I found your site, I'd been looking for over a month for this exact thing and just using the wrong keywords I guess. I started over at Bluff Ave and we setup the PokerStars homegames, but they limit to 50 players so we needed a better solution and Poker Mavens fits us perfect! I've been wanting to do this for 10+ years after hosting home games. I got tired of cleaning up and the problems that arise from strangers knowing where a game is. ;)

If all else fails you might need to nuke Windows completely and re-image the drive (after backing everything up of course). Run Windows Update right away and leave the firewall on but don't install any third-party security programs.

I'd been looking for over a month for this exact thing and just using the wrong keywords I guess.

And Google won't allow any paid advertising for anything gambling or poker related (even "play money" poker software) so I rely completely on the organic results and word of mouth. Just searching for "poker software" I currently land on page 4. You have to get more specific like "client server poker software" to see me on the first page.

I started searching for stuff like "host own poker tournaments online" "custom poker leagues" "host custom poker league/tourney" and various forms of that.

With those searches I did come across some others like PokerTH, DDpoker but they just couldn't handle what we needed to do, but never saw Poker Mavens. I even started searching "programs like PokerTH or DDpoker".

I don't remember what I used to finally find your site though, but I think it did include "client" after realizing there was nothing else web based out there we could use.
