Giving Back To The Community

Post by MavensDev »

Hey guys,

Just wanted to let you know that as a way of giving back to the Poker Mavens community, I am offering the unlocked versions of MavenBot NLH Ring and MavenBot Sit-N-Go at no cost. Just wanted to give my fellow Mavens site operators the ability to enhance their site with some automation without paying a ridiculous price tag. Both software products are fully functional and have no IP or port restrictions. Take this software as my gift and hopefully it enhances your site. If not, you have lost absolutely nothing! Enjoy!

You can order the free software on the MavensDev website @ http://www.mavensdev.com

Bots are popular now... how many will there be?

Post by Sara »

I'm interested in how these bot softwares do playing against each other... that would be a fun little game. And has anyone checked out this video. It seems to offer a bit different approach to the bot software. (Software anal retentive developer mindset, not poker player mindset.) https://youtu.be/5XuUrFI2hGU

Hey, Ricky!

Glad to see you are still around.
I'm definitely interested to see what you have been up to.

For those wondering, Ricky has been around a long, long time,

A bot war would be fun, I like your marketing and thanks for the design review but without a live demo you're just pushing vapourware and your business skills suck. Personally, I don't think it's ethical to show cards.

What's not ethical? I'm not showing other player's cards. Just the cards that are dealt to the bot. The real joke however is that you were charging 8 times what the professional version of Poker Mavens costs. Pretty proud of the software that you didn't even write yourself. I see you are re-thinking that :) Take care.

Dude, I didn't write the version 3 code, I did write the version 4 code. From the bugs you've found in yours I doubt you wrote it all either. As far as pricing is concerned we priced it to meet demand and had no problem with repeat sales. As far as ethics is concerned, site operators will fill all but one seat at a table and slaughter fish. Have fun with pirates!

Wait a second.. not to nitpick but you guys at Ipokerbot clearly state:

iPokerBOT will now be including the following new features in our updated GUI:
1. Hole and Community card viewing
2. Win probability percentages
3. Player statistics
4. Current hand statistics

How is that any different then what MavensDev has on their bot.. It does the same thing shows the bots cards so you can see what its doing and the statistics for winning and tab to see how its playing as far as hands played flops etc.. I don't see an iota of difference in the information so calling the cards thingy unethical is disingenuous..

On the otherhand developing what amounts to a collusion tool for use with your own bots is highly unethical if you ask me.. You state its only supposed to be used for testing yourself or what not but whats to stop somebody running a site from putting it up and running the bots and colluding to crush real players be it for fake money and or real (lets not kid ourselves there are sites including at one time SealsWithClubs) which have or do run Mavens for real money be it cryptocurrency or otherwise..

from your own site:
Bot-Link Module

Want to completly destroy your opponents?

A bot-link module will allow your bots to communicate and work together as a team.

This software add-on will be intended for individual skill testing purposes only (sold seperately - no release date).

This is ridiculous honestly.. I was one of the first testers for MavensDev and have never had an issue other then trying to figure out how to program the profiles but then again I'm a computer hardware guy not software and don't pretend to be.. Ill readily admit IPokerbots price was too high for my liking especially when it would've been $1500 with session keys just for my one site (and I'm in plans for 2 sites in reality). Competition is a good thing I would think in the market place and obviously not to beat a dead horse but IPB obviously you agreed you were charging too much when you dropped your price and included SK support automatically.. As for MavensDev I have nothing to complain about with the software so far .. Ive had bots running 24/7 for a week at a time (kinda trying to get some kinks worked out and I'm moving to a new server which has caused me issues getting the site accessibly publically. Darn Google cloud services probably will end up back with OVH or EUKHOST who I'm using for my second site anyway..).

As for the pirates issue.. If anything MavensDev actually allows people to test out the bot in a limited fashion to see how it works for ring and sng before you pay for it.. The autolauncher is very promising as well from what Ive seen.. But back to my point.. I don't see any more of a likelihood of pirates as unless you can somehow hack the hashing algo for licenses its going to be pretty hard as each PC has an individual ID assigned when the software is installed.. Finally hey the fact I'm going to need only one license running the unlocked versions for my two sites is to me the biggest bonus of it all.. Nothing against IPB (and who knows maybe Ill run both platforms someday once my finances allow it) but not having to spend a ton of money when I'm already having to do third party stuff for payments and such since nobody seems to have a ready made solution for integration (which surprises me) for a play site for subscriptions or buying chips would be a real selling point I think for folks who'd like to at least break even on costs..

I will definitely consider removing the card viewing option. I reason I put it in the program in the first place was to help me see how the bot was performing as far as decsision making and that was useful for building the profiles. I though it was neat, so I left it in, however it has no impact on the actual program performance and could easily be removed. Looks like another opportunity to lower prices down as well.
