Using the Payouts

Post by BadDog »

I tried using the payout with percentages, but it only paid the 1st place the total of percentages in that line 1 thru 4. Lets say I have 20 people who put in a $1 each and what it to pay 4 places. something like 40% for 1st, 25% for 2nd, 20% for 3rd and 15% for 4th. I tried putting those figures in, but it didn't work. Out of $25 it pay only first place $23. I guess I truly don't understand how to properly set that up. Can you help me understand it?

The numbers in your example don't add up. 20 people with a buyin of 1+0 (is your entry fee 0?) and no rebuys would make a prize pool of 20 chips and the payouts would be 8, 5, 4, and 3 using your percentages. What are the exact numbers you are using for:

Buy-in
Entry fee
Prize bonus
Multiply bonus
Rebuy cost
Rebuy fee
Payout structure

No entry fee? Your image doesn't show enough. Post an image of the full payout window.

I had a $1 buy-in, but no entry fee. I didn't know I had to have one. See Attachments.

You don't need an entry fee, I just wanted to confirm your full buy-in was 1+0. I still cannot see your whole Payout Structure because you are only screen grabbing the first part of it. Double-click that field and then make your screen shot.

Yeah, there's the problem, you are confusing Entrants with places paid. Those are two separate things. Only one row is used in the payout and it depends on the total number of entrants. So if 25 people entered, it would look only at the 5th row because that is where you have 21 to 40 entrants. But you have no payouts defined there so the winner would get it all. Every line must add up to 100.0 percent, otherwise the system will just spread out the unallocated prizepool
evenly. Click the Default Structure button to see what a valid payout structure looks like.
