On either the Pro or the Gold software, can another tournament (or two) start before the first one is finished? I also saw in another thread that the upper limit for logins would be close to 500. If I can have two tournaments running at the same time, with different starting times, say an hour apart, could 500 people enter the second tournament if there are 100 left in the first one?
Thank you
Ray

Re: Tournaments question
Yes, you can have multiple tournaments and ring tables all running at the same time, there are no hard limits. The "login limit" is not a hard limit either, it's just that every login uses one thread for the packet port connection and multiple (but temporary) threads on the file port to retrieve the client and associated media files. Threads are resource hungry and too many running will eventually slow your server down and crash it.
Re: Tournaments question
I'm getting very close to buying your software and starting up my games. If I start a new tournament every hour with say 100 players in each tournament, about how much will I have to invest ( and what will be required) to make sure my site doesn't crash. I'm trying to find out as much information as I can in this board so I can spend the money on building my site.
Thank you very much

Re: Tournaments question
The number of people in a tournament is less important (resource wise) than the total number of logins. No amount of investment will gain you more than several hundred of those on a single server.rayxtwo wrote:I'm getting very close to buying your software and starting up my games. Re: Tournaments question
Ok, about how much per month do you think I will have to allow for. My people are wanting me to get this fired up as soon as I can. I basically have to hit the ground running once I get going.
Thank you

Re: Tournaments question
Depends on where you rent your Windows server. VPS/cloud servers start low (with very little memory) at around $15/month and go up from there whereas dedicated servers can be in the hundreds per month.rayxtwo wrote:Ok, about how much per month do you think I will have to allow for.
