Table chat is recorded in the hand history files on the server side if "Save player chat" is set to Yes. Currently there's no log for the Lobby chat, however, but you can disable Lobby chat.

Actually your post reminded me that there really needs to be lobby chat save option also so there will be a record of anyone making threats or other disruptive behavior. It had been mentioned before but I forgot to include it on my to-do list. It'll be in the next update.
