Button Straddel

Post by SnakeDaRake »

I love that your software supports a straddel UTG, but I would also like an option for Button Straddel that would be configured as such:

[ x ] UTG Straddel
[ x ] Button Straddel

Straddel Priority:
( o ) UTG ( ) Button

Button straddle gives the button player too much of an advantage, IMO.

If the seat to your right is empty you can't straddle.....

This feels like a bug

Has been a part of Casino poker in Mississippi since poker was first legal there back when OJ was driving around in his Bronco (whatever year that was).

I don't think adding it to the software is that big of a deal but it's definitely more standard than one might think.

If everyone straddles on the button, there is no advantage.

Was there at least 4 players in the hand? That's the only requirement.

agreed. we don't use button straddle either because of the advantage it confers, but it is fairly common. Don't see why it can't be an option for site owners to implement. Also for us we play a blind on the button only during our live PLO games, which I'm assuming button straddle option functionality would allow us to implement here.

What advantage? If everyone does it there is no advantage

re, the "advantage" argument - a live UTG straddle is a DISADVANTAGE in a vacuum so it's really no different than a button straddle. If everyone agrees to live UTG straddle then the disadvantage disappears...

Advantage in the hand, being able to act last both preflop and postflop.
