Not really. How would that work? Players would have already been seated, given chips, and started paying blinds. A player can, however, show up late if they registered before it started.

Could there be a penalty for registering late?

Concept: The penalty for late registration is all big blinds for each hand.
Formula: Total = Buy-In minus (H*B1 + H*B2 ... H*BN) where H equals Number of Hands and B1 through BN equals the particular Big Blind Level.

Ex: Hand 10 is in progress of a 2500 buy-in tournament. After 5 Hands the blinds raised from 15/25 to 25/50. So the penalty for late registration will be: 2500-(5*25 + 5*50) = 2125 starting pot in the eleventh hand for the late player.

I just want to let you know, our online gaming community has been using your software for a few months now, and we REALLY enjoy it. It has enriched our community sooo much. The multi-table tournaments have really kicked up gameplay. So my pursuance of this issue is only based on helping keep a start time for a tournament. With 25 players in a tournament that are spread across the globe, you do not want to have to wait on anybody, yet you do not want to leave any 15 minute late players out. Currently we just wait 10 or 15 minutes before starting, but it would be nice to not have to worry about late comers all together.

Either way, your software is AWESOME! Keep up the Great WORK! And Thank you for all you have done!!!

H will be different on every table in a multi-table tourney. Players can get knocked out on the first hand and move to another table as early as the second hand. Parts of the prizepool could have already been awarded. Trying to insert a new player into all that after it has started would be very difficult.

I now at Absolute and 1 other one, can't think of it have late registration.

Not sure how the backbone/coding would work but this is how it works from a players point of view.

If the game starts at 10 PM then there is a 5 min late registration to allow more people in.

So someone could come in at 10:03 and register sends them to a seat automatically at a balanced table with full chips (no penalty) and then at 10:05 no one else can register to get in.

Even cooler if this became an option would be for us to able to assign the the amount of time for late registration per tourney type...
ie. 1 min, 2 min, 5 min, 10 min etc. instead of a fixed of 5 mins or what ever is programmed in.
