Is there way to change username and retain account info

The username is greyed out on the account so it can't be changed via the normal edit function. Is there a way to change the username but retain the original account info/history for that person.

No, not directly. You would have to create a new account, manually copy the account settings and delete the original. The old name will still be in all the event logs and history files since those are just plain text files.
