Is the ability to begin a tournament via a start code available in the Lite verison?
If so, how does that work? Does a user need to have special privileges to execute this?

It's a available in all editions include the free trial. Anyone who knows the code can select the tournament in the list (in the client lobby) then select Options on the menu, select "Start Tournament" and type in the code.
