Another question:
Yesterday we played an omaha tournament with 20 to 30 players. Is it normal that both CPUs are at 100% during such a small tournament? (Server: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+ with 6GB RAM) Poker Mavens Pro 4.11 is the only software that is running on the system.

No, that's not normal. Did the Windows Task Manager show that PMServer.exe was using all 100% of the CPU? If that happens again, make a note of the Memory and Threads usage also. Note that the Threads column is not shown by default. You have to go into the Task Manager menu and check that box.

Please excuse my late reply. Yes it was PMServer.exe.

If it happens again I will make a note of the Memory and Threads usage.

At the moment we use the settings 500 Max PP Connections and 1200 Max FP Connections.

1.500 threads and 1GB RAM in use when the software crashed.

With 4.10 and unlimited connections everything worked fine. Is ist possible to go back to 4.10?

How many players were logged in at the time?

If you still have your 4.10 setup file, you can run it again to go back. I doubt any of the changes between 4.10 and 4.11 have anything to do with this, however.

180 players were online at that time. Last season we often had that number of players. I don't know what to do.

Do you have any ideas? What can be wrong with our settings or do you think that we need a more powerful server. I don't think so because it seems to be a memory issue. we have 6GB and the software can use only 4GB. But Windows never shows more than 1.5GB memory use. I don't understand that.

1 GB for 180 players is too much. There was a compiler changed in between 4.09 and 4.10 so I'll look at my thread memory allocation settings. In the mean time, keep a log of the following at various load conditions:

number of logins
PMServer.exe thread count
PMServer.exe memory
PMServer.exe cpu

I've been doing some testing. The memory requirements have not changed since the compiler update in version 4.10. The problem is too many threads. In the 32-bit editions of Poker Mavens, the system will run low on system resources at about the 1500 to 1600 thread mark. So first try lowering your Max Connection settings to something like 300 PP/1000 FP or lower. The question I have is whether 180 players are really creating 1500 threads. I doubt it because I have other customers supporting up to 500 players in some cases. So either there is a bug or someone is putting a denial of service attack on you. So I'd still like to see that log I mentioned with the values at roughly 20 player increments or so.

Thank you for your help Kent.

Okay, I will try to collect the data you want. Which format do you prefer. Screenshots of system monitor or perfmon or should I simply write it down and post it here in your support forum? Or what kind of log do you mean?

This weekend we habe only smaller tournaments with 10 to 30 players but monday evening we can try a bigger tournament with more than 100 players.
So first try lowering your Max Connection settings to something like 300 PP/1000 FP or lower.
