Server requirements which are best?

Post by deikalion »

Good evening Mr. Briggs

I have to choose VPS server I dont know which of characteristics would improve server performance to let him handle more players?

So what should I increase in my package when I am buying server RAM or CPU?

Do you have any statistics of what servers can handle what amount of players?

Is Poker Mavens would work on VPS Cloud server?

Thank you for you time!

Ram, CPU, and Internet speed (particularly uplink speed) are all important. It also matters what else is running on the same system that is also using system resources. You can use a VPS/Cloud server. I don't have any statistics as the only way to know what a particular system can handle is to load it up with actual players.

Been looking at a few options among those they offer scaling thus the ability to expand hardware allocation as the site gets busy. Ideally a cloud server that could actually flux automatically would be awesome but not holding my breath as only ones I've seen run Linux/unix software. There are some options out there I know PFA uses OVH in Canada and are reasonable. I'm looking at game server options with Amazon as we speak but also had worked with another provider Kamaterra before and they offer not only shared CPU but also dedicated CPU allocation and the ability to scale up massively should the need arise up to a whopping 20CPU and massive memory for well huge price (I believe maxed out your looking at well over 1000 a month) while their prices start around 60-70 and get a month upfront free.

Something that would offer scalability in short order instead of having to move everything to a new machine is helpful especially given license issues with a pair of bot vendors who are on here as third party providers. Just my 2 MB worth.
