How do I combine the use of tickets and payouts?

I would like to run a satellite series where the Top 20% of the field receives a ticket to the next level buyin event.

For instance an $40+$4 Satellite that issues tickets to the Top 20% of the field to a $185+$15 event.

I have a few problems:

How do I award a ticket and not at the same time award a payout and vice versa?

Is there a way to generate payouts in terms of units instead of as a percentage?

If I must use a percentage to award payouts, is the following example going to work?

7 players register
Payout Structure: Entrants: 7 / Percentages: 0, 14.285%, 14.285%

The Payout would actually be 1 Ticket to the $185+$15 Event for 1st, $40 for 2nd, $40 for 3rd

Furthermore, can a player collect more than 1 of these tickets?

Thanks for the help, I'm sure this will lead to more questions.

Tickets cannot be awarded by percentage. You have to know ahead of time exactly how many will get them (like the top 4 finishers, etc).

You can award 0.00% in chips to places that are winning tickets. The total still has to add to 100.00%, though. Chip payouts are always set by a percentage of the prizepool.

Currently a player cannot hold duplicate copies of a particular ticket. If they win a second one it just gets ignored. There is no limit on the number of different tickets they can hold, however.

So if I want to host a 10 person SNG, where the top 2 win Tickets, and NOBODY wins money, then how do I represent that in the payout structure?

Just make the "Buy-in" 0 so that there is no prize pool and thus the payout structure will be ignored. You can still use the "Entry fee" if you want the players to pay something that all goes to the house. For the ticket prizes, set the "Payout tickets" to something like "x, x" or "x, y" where x and y are whatever you name your ticket tokens (depending on if first and second place get the same ticket or different tickets).

Adding to my last comment, since the payout structure still shows in the player client in the General Info window, you may want to set it anyway to look consistent with what is actually happening. Like a single line of "2-10, 50.00, 50.00" which shows 2 to 10 entries, 50% for 1st place, 50% for 2nd place. With a buy-in of 0, that's all ignored but it does reflect what is happening if the first two places get a ticket.

Next Question? In your next version can you make the straddle button work 3 handed. Thanks.

Not likely, that gives the button player the straddle option, which gives him too much of an advantage. I looked at how ACR (America's Cardroom) handled their straddle option and it gets disabled three-handed so I went with that.

In live poker, the button would have that option.

Next question...

currently in the Stud games, if somebody brings in for a full bet instead of the bring in, the bets are being capped at 3 instead of 4.

bring in normally 2, person brings in for 5 instead, next person raises to 10, next person raises to 15... and then no more raise option exists

There should be one more option.

Depends on where you are playing, every casino has their own rules.

That looks like a bug. My guess is that my code is incorrectly treating that full bet as a raise. I'll fix that in the next update. Thanks.
