good morning mate

just give us a link of work You have done or if You have a site to sell. IMO it is
the best to discuss it openly here so every one can jump in if something looks fishy or
is not right. a good example is this thread
http://www.briggsoft.com/forums/viewtop ... f=7&t=1881

UGPBTC tried to fool us and aandy jumped in with some interesting info. and after I asked UGPBTC
to give some work samples or URLs he just said the same like You "contact me" and then disappeared.

I am really interested to buy a nice working gold PM site. but the whole info should be here in thread and
for buying I will contact You to make the payment if we agree on price and details.
First, you are indeed talking like a "noob" for not understanding that many past clients may not want their website addresses posted in an internet forum where hackers and scammers can easily find URLs to exploit.

It certainly would be great if there were well-established sites which developers could point to publicly, but that is simply not going to happen very often.

Go look in Kent's Public Gallery of PM sites http://www.pokermavens.net/
and note that there are not that many listed compared to the many licenses which have been bought. So, obviously, some people are not that eager to widely publicize sites that are more exclusive or that can only benefit from a few hundred users at a time...

I certainly would not give my permission for a coder to post links to my site in places where I have not approved the links...
and I do not want to attract attention to my site except when *I* want to publicize it.

I would view that as a violation of Confidentiality.

Similarly, if I am working on my own sites under development, I am not going to encourage traffic from unknown people lurking in forums who may try to exploit vulnerabilities that may be present before my site is ready to launch.

However, any developer who is planning on selling their services needs something to use for demonstration purposes.
And I would be leery of hiring anybody whose experience is so limited that they have not even finished their own working demo site.

I would really want to see evidence that these developers actually do know what they are doing...

Don't be so quick to condemn what you do not understand....makes you sound like a Noob.

As far as catching people lying goes, I am sure you can ask for references from the webmasters whose site links you are given via skype or email.

Still, it's good to ask tough questions from prospective developers when thousands of dollars are involved. A real professional developer would post offers under their real name and have a real web site that displays examples of their work with publicly listed contact information. Anything less looks shady. No one here has been vetted by me. Anyone can create an anonymous account. Whatever you do, make sure they actually wrote the code they are selling. Check references and get a signed, written agreement stating exactly what will be provided, when it will be provided, how much it will cost, and what kind of post-sale technical support will be provided. Or use a service that has an escrow/arbitration system like Elance, Freelancer, Guru, oDesk, Toptal, etc.

maybe I am a noob in many ways and matters but not this time and I know what I am looking for and I love to pay for good work. lets say the OP created my PM gold site and it is online and running I would give him the allowance to post it as a reference (sure that I must be a satisfied customer). but You are right that there might be some who don't want or allow it.
and I will repeat that the OP doesn't look serious at all to me and the reason why is that he really offered all I would like to have but no reference site and no price.
and if You would be a bit smart and not jump in with Your not so polite posting and would do a google search for webmedia.ben and [email protected] You would see some interesting info. and again You would see that some one is telling us that he created bookiebuddypoker.com

now we have @aandy, UGPBTC and webmedia who are claiming they did the bookiebuddypoker.com site. now who is who? or are all 3 the same person?

why did UGPBTC disappear without answering my questions? and why did @burk8080 write in his posting
Hello, from my personal experience I'd avoid working with anyone associated with UGPBTC. I created features for their poker site and they reversed the Paypal payment and then resold my work.

whatever You will say now I hope You will agree with me that it is strange that webmedia didnt post his website and name in his first posting or later when I asked for reference sites and price.

and I would propose to @social to read @Kent's posting and I want to thank Kent for his very fair and smart posting.

ok @social please tell me now who do You think is the noob?

You are...yet again.

Kent did not say anything which I did not already state, in this thread and several others - about not trusting developers who cannot demonstrate that they know what they are doing.

You are not being called a Noob for wanting to do due diligence and protect your investment, or even for wanting to shine the light on someone who has provided inconsistent information. I was warning people about shady characters in this forum long before *you* showed up....based upon lessons learned the hard way from being ripped off.

It is good to share possibly important information to protect people within a community.

(But, do not be confused: this is not designed to be a "community" - it is a place where Kent Briggs provides support for his commercial product, and allows others to post information relevant to that product. Communities make it easy for members to contact each other, and Kent has had to remove a number of features in that regard).

You are being called a Noob for browbeating someone for choosing not to conduct their business openly in these posts, and acting like you have uncovered something because they do not bother to respond to your insinuations.

Declining to publish web addresses in this forum is not grounds for accusing someone of anything disreputable.

It quite normal for developers to ask for conversations to be continued through their own Support Desks or websites or Skype, where they can track things better and manage the information disclosed better.

I say this based upon my own experience in several other forums where the same issue has come up, with developers trying to limit the number of places in which they provide "support" and presales info.

Many people prefer to get down to "brass tacks" in a more formal and private setting, such as live chat, which helps the sellers sort out who the real buyers are - and helps the buyers sort out who the real sellers are - much more quickly and efficiently than going back and forth in forum posts and emails....which is a real PITA.

"Many people" includes *me* and many quite professional service-providers with whom I am acquainted.

People have to learn to be good providers, and clients have to learn how to be good clients in order to maximize successful transactions.

You could take the opportunity to learn something from this discussion, but won't.

Instead, you insist on hijacking this Poster's thread and inserting discussion and questions from some other thread involving "webmedia" - wherein you fancy yourself Sherlock Holmes.

At this point, your nickname was well-chosen, and says it all. The fact that you address people with such a snide, smarmy smug tone earmarks you as someone to avoid contact with at all, as the OP apparently has wisely chosen to do.

Like most Noobs, you have no insight into your own limitations and continue to show them proudly.

a wonderful morning

@social

read Kent's posting again and yes he posted something different to your posting. Your answer is telling me that you must be a friend/partner of the OP or you are the OP.

@webmedia-@UGPBTC and @aandy and now maybe you have all coded bookiebuddypoker. And you still defend the OP. Thats to strange for me and you are talking about hijacking a thread? Haha makes me laugh. I asked the OP very simple and justified questions and you jumped in with a stupid and aggressive posting and defending the OP. Why would you say that it is just normal that UGPBTC and webmedia are same person? IMO there is no reason to offer service under 2 different nicks. Only if you want to scam or did scam people then it makes sense.

My proposal is that lets wait for the OP to get back with some answers regarding his service and why he didn't post his website and the poker sites he gives on his website as reference? And I hope that the Op will read and understand Kent's posing and let us know the missing details.

And your answer is telling me that you are a Paranoid Narcissist and incapable of having any further useful conversations...
you go so far beyond the boundaries of logic and justified inference that it is a waste of time.

Your reading comprehension and ability to interpret what people say is deficient because you are so locked into your egocentric world view.

You cannot tell the difference between defending the OP and me telling you what a Noob you are.

The OP has handled *you* appropriately, and needs no defense.
For *you* - there is none.

I'll leave you to congratulate yourself on your brilliant deductions and enjoy your mental masturbation, Sherlock, because you certainly are incapable of intercourse.

no problem for me. You are welcome to delete any posting I did in case I insulted some one. it was not intended and I apologize in case some one thought I insulted him.

I will do my DD as always and I hope I am allowed to post it here if it is connected to the OP. I ask the OP @webmedia to post some more info about his service. I am interested in a website with a similar design like - bookiebuddypoker- with the gold PM package.

thanks

I am skeptical of @webmedia also- and all new posters claiming to be developers.
The odds are against finding the real deal here.
However, developers also have to be cautious of who *they* deal with - or risk significant losses of time, effort, money and reputation. It is a two-way street.

I hope that if somebody does business with him that they will be kind enough to post a review.

Until then, I will gladly stay out of this thread.
