Quick Questions on Tournaments

Post by Vitao »

How do the tables work?

so if I have 3 tables of 10, and 15 people signup, does it split into 3 tables of 5 then the three winners from the tables meet up, or 1 full table, and one with 5...do the tables merge...

Also if there is a place on the web that can tell me how the pot splits work, or can someone here tell me how this works...

2-4, 100.00
5-7, 65.00, 35.00
8-10, 50.00, 30.00, 20.00
11-20, 45.00, 28.00, 17.00, 10.00
21-40, 36.00, 23.00, 15.00, 11.00, 8.00, 7.00
41-70, 30.00, 20.00, 14.00, 10.00, 8.00, 7.00, 6.00, 5.00
71-100, 29.00, 18.00, 12.50, 10.00, 8.00, 6.50, 5.50, 4.50, 3.50, 2.50
101-200, 28.00, 17.50, 11.50, 8.50, 7.00, 5.50, 4.50, 3.50, 2.50, 1.50, 1.00x10
etc ... etc....

The third table would not be used at all since 15 people can fit into two tables (when there are 10 seats each). So you'll start with 8 people on Table 1 and 7 on Table 2, randomly seated. If the tables get unbalanced (one table has at least 2 more players than another) then a player (the next to receive the big blind) will get transferred to the lesser table. Once you're down to 10, the tables will merge to one. If you want to force three tables to start for 15 people then reduce the seats per table down to 5, 6, or 7.

I assume you mean the prize pool split (payout structure).
or can someone here tell me how this works...

2-4, 100.00
5-7, 65.00, 35.00
The first number (or range of two numbers) represent the number of entrants. The numbers after that present the payouts as a percentage of the total prize pool, starting with 1st place. So in the example above, when there are 2 to 4 entrants, there is only 1 place paid and he gets 100.00% of the prizepool. When there are 5 to 7 entrants, there are 2 places paid such that 1st place gets 65% and 2nd place gets 35%, etc.
101-200, 28.00, 17.50, 11.50, 8.50, 7.00, 5.50, 4.50, 3.50, 2.50, 1.50, 1.00x10
This line says when there are 101 to 200 entrants, 1st places get 28%, 10th places gets 1.5%, and 11th through 20th place all get 1% each.

The help file has more info on the payout system under Server Interface | Tournaments. Or you can view it online here:
