hi

sometimes we get not responding for Poker Mavens software means that you have no choice except closing the Poker Mavens.
this is the last error log before not responding
2014-12-19 02:56:33|Invalid reconnect attempt from xxxxxxxx
2014-12-19 06:01:11|KillInactiveSessions error: Socket Error # 10054
Connection reset by peer.
2014-12-19 06:02:27|Invalid reconnect attempt from xxxxxxxxxx
we run software on a dedicated 16GB ram and [email protected] CPU
and there is only the Poker Mavens software installed on dedicated.

The "Invalid Reconnect Attempt" message could be a failed hacking attempt, especially if the IP address does not belong to a legitimate player. Keep an eye on the memory and thread load for PMServer.exe in the Windows Task Manager and see if the freezeup corresponds to very high numbers there.

280 players is a big load for a VPS. You may just be exceeding the server's capability to handle that many players.

as you see 20% of CPU and 9% of ram is full, but it is not happening only on tournaments, when the software is almost idle happens too, i mean the not responding.

any suggesting for that

i think something is happening the software do not disconnect the players that are not online anymore and it courses the more thread to be involved and not responding in the result.

Add the "Threads" column to the Task Manager and keep an eye on that number. You can also exceed system resources with too many threads, which increase with the number of connections and tables active. And would spike with a denial-of-service attack.

i active the threads and the handles column
threads = 170
handles = 16790
its unusual, isnt it?

Recheck those numbers when the server gets to a non-responsive state.

i think its attack, because it happens when we are away.
last night we had about 80 online players and the software was not responding when i opened the vps the threads was about 790.

so there must be a problem, because we have changed or edited nothing and its about a week that it happens.
