Re: WIN Server Questions

Yes godaddy is inside the USA
So they support win servers and wins vps
I have win vps in usa but I'm not gonna run a money site in the usa for a client on it
So we tested the script off ip's no problems
We tested in a nederlands win server ip's only
It worked great
Now we hae dns running and the script died
Again, if this NL was inside the USA setup properly with a control panel you can manage a domain off of no problem
The issue is finding for a money site in Nederlands or Iceland wither a win vps or win server that is already set up with a control panel
They give you a windows box and IP and say they don't support windows
So box was tested the IP ported perfectly through :8087
Now the dns is banging and the script stopped
So we'll play with it tomorrow
What I'm saying is, no one is supporting a windows control panel for simple domain name installation and ssl certs
You get windowns vps or server in NL and IL and get what, IT DOES NOTHING, no dns, no http, no control panel
They expect you to set it up, now inside the USA you can get vps with a control panel and remote desktop for nothing
But you're inside the USA, are you collecting money on the site?
NO
So running a money casino overseas and dealing with hosting companies that are like WINDOWS use linux
That's the issue, linux is supported all over the world, but this script wants remote desktop on a win vps or server
Try to find it in Iceland and Nederlands
I couldn't they all say NO CONTROL PANEL
So now we did a active domain service control setup, then popped in windows dns and IIS web hosting
The dns works and the main doman resolves
Yet the script died, so maybe the port has to be changed or permissions played with
I'll look at it tomorrow
Oh anyone trying to do their own dns on a windows server
Here's the steps
1. active domain service control goes first and you probably have to redo the ivp6 dynamic stuff in TCP IP to get it to work, that was our hangup
2. AD SC makes the dns server
3. You select the stuff you want to run on ISS Web Host
Then you point your host record for the new dns servers to the dns ip's you used and bingo you resolve
The whole reason servers are easy today is control panels
No one wants to install or support a windows control panel outside the USA where money casinos are being hosted
Anyway, the dns is working and tomorrow we'll figure out what settings have to be adjust so the script can find 8087 again
It's probably a block on it with the IIS web server
