Still not working help please.

I downloaded the trial version just to see if I can set it up in hopes to get the full version later for work. I am behind a router and I have forwarded ports 8000-8100 just to be on the safe side (8087-8088 didnt' work either) I can login to server using my network computers, however no other computer outside the network can enter. On my networks I have to use ip 198.168.2.2:8087 and it logs in just fine. My actual IP is 97.103.190.127:8087 . I have ports forwarded to the 198.162.2.2 ip as per the instructions. Now I am at a loss as to why nothing can get into it. Server is up if you are willing to try getting on, maybe you can think of something I can't.

I tried it, and was prompted for a site password. Since I don't know the password, I couldn't get on, but I'm guessing it works.

Hmm still not working for me.. I just get the "page can not be displayed". I am using more than one computer (work, friends) and both don't get to it. If you get to the password page that is further than I have ever gotten. Is there settings on any of my web browsers (work = IE, friends = firefox)? Heck if you are able to get it I might just play you :)

ok now the computers I am trying to connect to are getting "timed out" pages. Getting closer hopefully. I have tried known pmavens servers from work/friends and they are getting the timed outs as well.

I have no problem connecting to this address. It's giving me the private site password prompt so I can't go any further (unless you want to email me the password) but it's not a firewall issue with your router since it let me past that.

Ok, my bad it is working on my end. Just tested it on another friends computer and I get right in. Looks like work and friend #1 is where the problem is at. So I guess the question is what settings if any (work may be blocking unknown sites automatically) can I put in the browser to be able to get to my server.

Is friend #1 at work also? My guess would be a corporate firewall not letting you connect out to non-80 port web site. See if you and your friend can connect to my demo server at http://www.pmserver.net which runs on file port 80 and packet port 8080.

yeah I was able to connect to that server from work. Friend #1 wasn't home to have him test. So should I change the ports to 80? It did hang on the packet port, just said "connecting to packet 8080..." and wouldn't go anywhere else.

You can use 80 if your ISP doesn't block it. That's the default port for a web server. I know some ISPs like Cox Cable will block port 80 to prevent people from running a web server on a residential account. I have no problem using 80 on my Comcast system, however. Don't forget to adjust the port forwarding in the your router when you change ports. If you can use 80 for the file port you can probably use 81 for the packet port.

Then it's likely your company firewall is blocking that too and only allow outgoing connections to port 80. Poker Mavens requires two ports, a file port to retrieve the Flash file and some other graphics images and packet port for a persistent TCP/IP connection for exchanging game packets back and forth.
