Poker Mavens 4.19 Released

Post by Kent Briggs »

Upgrade page:

http://www.briggsoft.com/patches.htm

Changes:

Rake is now configurable by player count. Instead of a single value for Rake/Rake Every/Rake Max settings, you can now enter a comma-separated list of values to set rake by the number of players who were dealt in the hand. Sites like PokerStars have lower rates for 2-player hands, a middle rate for 3-4 player hands, and a higher rate for 5+ player hands. You can now do the same and specify different rates and caps for all 9 possible variations (2 to 10 handed play). A popup Rake Schedule dialog has been added to assist the number entry in the Windows console.

Added "Max rebuys" and "Rebuy fee" options for tournaments. You can limit the number of rebuys that each player can have in a rebuy tournament. Use a value of -1 for unlimited rebuys. Also, you now have the option of charging entry fees on rebuys. These chips go to the house account. For example, on a 100+10+R tournament, rebuys are 110 chips when this setting is enabled or 100 when disabled.

Added "Proxy IP header" option to Server Settings. If the poker server is placed behind a proxy server, you can instruct the proxy server to pass a custom HTTP/WS header that contains the actual IP address of the player. Otherwise, the poker server will treat all connections as originating from the proxy server's IP address. You need to send this header for both HTTP requests and during the WebSocket handshake. Leave this value blank for normal operation.

Added "Proxy WSS" option to Server Settings. Select Yes to force the client to make a secure websocket connection. This is to be used when the poker server is behind a proxy server such that the client to proxy connection is encrypted but the proxy to poker server connection is not. Select No for normal operation.

Updated multiple language strings. Everyone should reset these to their default values even if you don't use the Language feature. Otherwise they will be incorrect if you ever enable the custom language feature.

Game Info Properties -> Rake every
Game Info Properties -> Rake players
Hand History -> ** Hole Cards ** [%1% players]
Add Chips Dialog -> Rebuy maximum message

To reset a string, select it on the Language tab, then click Reset on the toolbar and then Reset Selected.

A couple of notes on 4.19:

I had to change the tournament editor to squeeze in the new fields so there are now four columns instead of two. It's not as easy to read as before so I'm not 100% satisfied with it. I may end up moving the tournament settings to a scrollable grid control like you see with the System and Language settings.

The new rake system is backward compatible with the previous system so no changes are needed to keep your old values. The last number listed applies to all remaining player counts. For example, if the Rake field is "1,3,5" then the 1 applies to 2-handed play, the 3 to 3-handed play, and the 5 to 4-handed and higher play. The Rake Stats utility from http://www.briggsoft.com/docs/pmavens/Utilities.htm works the same as before.

One change was made to the Hand History files. The number of players dealt into the hand is now displayed on the end of the "** Hole Cards **" line so it will look like this:

** Hole Cards ** [5 players]

Note that if you are using the language feature, you'll need to reset this line in the language settings to make that work as explained in the first post.
