Winner chosen when there should be a tie

Two players had Flush. The one with the highest card in the flush should win, however, they both had the King as the highest card.

From what I know, both users should have split the pot instead of the DeMpDoN winning it.

Nope, a flush is a 5-card hand. It goes to the next card and all the way down to the 5th if necessary. The only way a flush can split is if the highest 5 cards showing of the same suit are all on the board.
