Flash Client
Player Interface

The client module is an Adobe Flash file that is automatically served to the player's web browser when they connect to your site for the first time. This means the player does not have to install any new software to play at your site. If they do not have version 8 or later of the Flash player installed on their system then they will receive an error message to that effect along with a link to the Adobe web site. A graphic like the one shown below is displayed with a progress bar as the client module is retrieved from your server.

If your server is located in a residence with typical cable modem Internet access and an uplink speed of 384 kbps (kilobits per second), this may take 15 seconds or longer. However, subsequent connections will be much quicker as the player's web browser will cache the Flash file. Once loaded, the Lobby window is displayed as discussed in the next topic.
